The mission of the Rockaway Valley Garden Club is to advance an interest in, and knowledge of, gardening and conservation related topics among our members and the entire community. In addition, we participate in various civic projects, including:

• Tourne Park: Planting wildflowers, removing invasive plants, and providing educational tours of the Emilie K. Hammond Wildflower Trail, which consists entirely of plant species native to New Jersey;
• Boonton Township Municipal Building: Maintaining the planters at the Municipal Building (as well as the Valley Rd. “triangle”) and decorating for the fall and winter holidays there;
• Boonton Holmes Public Library: Maintaining the Ann Charlton Memorial Garden behind the library, sponsoring a junior gardeners’ program there and providing plants/ floral arrangements on the librarian’s desk;
• Merry Heart: Giving workshops to residents;
• Community Financial Support: Sponsoring various fundraising activities, including an annual plant sale. Most of the proceeds of these activities are donated to local organizations or provide scholarships to local students.

Our members are from Boonton Township and surrounding communities. We welcome guests and prospective members at our monthly meetings, which feature guest speakers. The meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the Boonton Township Municipal Building.
