The goal of the Boonton Township Police Department is to provide our citizens with the safest community

ORGANIZATION
The Boonton Township Police Department is organized into two major divisions,
the Operations Division and the Investigative Division. Each of these divisions is commanded by a
Division Commander that oversees each division is functioning at an efficient level.
The Operations Division is responsible for all uniformed patrol functions in the department including
deployment of patrol officers, traffic enforcement; police records management and special events.
The Investigative Division is responsible for following up on all reported criminal activity, background
investigations, juvenile officers, firearms investigations, intelligence, community services, media
relations, the D.A.R.E. program and school safety programs.
