Remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice

Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend from the

Township Committee and staff

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As we begin the unofficial start of summer this weekend, here are some grill safety tips from

the Township Fire Official

Before firing up the grill this weekend, place it away from your house. Do not store or use a grill on a porch or balcony.

Leading factors contributing to grill fires are failure to clean, leaks or breaks, leaving the grill unattended, and having the grill too close to something that could catch fire.

🔥Grill Safety Tips🔥

🍔Propane & charcoal BBQ grills should only be used outdoors.

🌭The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches.

🍔Keep children and pets at least three feet away from grill area.

🌭Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill.

🍔NEVER leave your grill unattended.

🌭Always make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting it

Dog Licensing Reminder

Failure to license your dog for 2026 by May 29, 2026, will result in a summons!!

Dog licensing for 2026 is still ongoing, and there are still many residents with unlicensed dogs in our community.

Licensing your dog is required by law and helps ensure the safety of your dog and the community.

If your dog is not currently licensed, please do so as soon as possible. Failure to license your dog will result in a summons being issued.

If you are unsure if your dog's rabies vaccination needs to be renewed for licensing purposes, please contact us.

NJ State Law states that dogs' rabies vaccinations cannot expire before November 1, 2026, for the licensing year. If your dog's rabies vaccination expires before then you are required to get a booster before you license your dog.

Sylvia Kubik at 973-402-4004 or skubik@boontontownship.com

Daria VanderGoot at 973-402-4024 or dvandergoot@boontontownship.com
