What to do with those leaves?
It's autumn and the leaves are falling, you're doing a final cutting of the lawn, trimming your brush... Now what to do with your leaves and brush trimmings? The GREEN TEAM hopes you will consider composting your yard waste (it's easier than you may think). Consider using a mower/shredder for leaves or collecting them for use around trees or in flower beds. You can also contact a local landscaper or S. Rotundi 973-635-7799 to deposit leaves and brush. Please DO NOT blow your leaves into the street, catch basins or waterways. This creates flooding, liter and pollution issues. Wet leaves on roadways also create a hazard for drivers.
Additionally - Drivers are urged to use extra caution and watch for white-tailed deer as deer mating season begins. Peak mating season for deer in New Jersey runs from late October throughout November and into mid-December in all areas of the state.

The Rockaway Valley Garden Club generally meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Meetings begin at 10:00 am and are held at the Boonton Township Municipal Building, 155 Powerville Rd. Guests are always welcome and we encourage you to join us to see what we are about.
Bloomin’ Ideas
On Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00am, the Rockaway Valley Garden Club will host a free program entitled “Bloomin’ Ideas.” Denise Ippolito, a full-time, award winning professional photographer, workshop leader, and artist will inspire us to find our unique artistic sight and develop personal works of art as we learn how to take professional photos with our iPhones. Ms. Ippolito travels extensively presenting slide lectures and seminars and teaching photography and Photoshop. Her programs feature a variety of subjects including avian, floral, landscape, and creative photography.
