Butterfly Gardening with Native Plants

On Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM, the Rockaway Valley Garden Club will host a free program entitled “Butterfly Gardening with Native Plants.” Jane Hurwitz, editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine and former director of the Butterfly Garden and Habitat Program for the North American Butterfly Association will share how to attract and retain butterflies in your garden. Butterfly gardening is used to protect the entire life cycle of butterflies.  The talk will explore the relationship between butterflies and specific native plants and suggest easy steps to protect these relationships to enhance local ecosystems and personal gardens.

The Rockaway Valley Garden Club generally meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Meetings begin at 10:00 AM and are held at the Boonton Township Municipal Building, 155 Powerville Rd. Guests are always welcome and we encourage you to join us to see what we are about.
