WELCOME, THANKS & CONGRATS!!

The Township Committee welcomes Patricia Collins who was sworn-in on January 13th to fill the unexpired term of Michele Rankin. 

Patty has resided in the Township for more than twenty year with her husband Craig and their two children.  Before joining the Township Committee Patty served 14 years on the Board of Education.

A grateful thank you to Michele Rankin for her years of service to the Township.  Michele joined the Township Committee in January 2010 serving through December 31, 2019.

She leaves a legacy as the first woman to serve as Mayor of our Township.  We wish her well in her future endeavors!!

Congrats to Sgt. Andy Tintle on his promotion to Lieutenant of the Boonton Township Police Department. 

The Township Committee approved Lt. Tintle's promotion at the January 13, 2020 meeting.  Lt. Tintle joined BTPD in December 1996.

CHRISTMAS TREE DROP-OFF

Christmas Trees can be dropped off at the Recycling Center on January 18 from 9 AM to Noon

all trees must be free from lights and ornaments - wreaths are not accepted.

January is time to license that your Dog

 

All dogs over the age of 7 months are required to be  licensed. Current rabies vaccination is required. If your dog's rabies vaccine expires before October 31, 2020, you must have your dog re-vaccinated and send a copy of the proof in with your renewal form.

 

To avoid any late fees, licenses must be purchased by January 31st.  You can purchase your license via mail.  Cash and checks are accepted.

winter weather reminder

Township ordinance prohibits depositing or throwing snow or ice upon any right-of-way within the Township - so please refrain from plowing, snow blowing or shoveling snow and ice into the roadway.  (ordinance 112-1.C)

Yoga at RVS

Renew Yourself in the New Year!

Yoga classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 and Thursdays from 6:00-7:00 at RVS in January -February. Cost is $65 per person for 6 weeks.

Head over to RVS on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM for men's basketball.  These are informal pick-up games - all are welcome!

Free Youth Baseball Clinic

Focusing on fielding, throwing, and pitching. Open to all baseball players ages 8 to 12. Saturday mornings from 10 AM to 11:30 AM from January 11th - February 29th. Rockaway Valley School Small Gym.

Spring 2020 registration is now being held for children ages 5-14. Registration closes on January 31st. Register online at www.tritownll.org/registration

Rockaway Valley Garden Club.

The Rockaway Valley Garden Club generally meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Meetings begin at 10:00 AM and are held at the Boonton Township Municipal Building, 155 Powerville Rd.

Guests are always welcome and we encourage you to join us to see what we are about.

Book Club

The Book Club meets the second Tuesday of the month in the Municipal Building. 

The next meeting is February 11, 2020 and the selection  is any autobiography of your choosing.

The book selection for the March 10, 2020 meeting  is The Guardians by John Grisham.

Rockaway River Watershed Cabinet

The Rockaway River Watershed Cabinet is hosting a Free Environmental Visual Assessment Training on February 22, 2020 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Denville Town Hall, 1 St. Mary's Place, Denville.

 The objective is to conduct assessments in the Rockaway River watershed.
