4/11 - Happy 153rd anniversary to Boonton Township!! "An Act to divide the Township of Pequannoc" enacted on April 11, 1867 created the Townships of Boonton and Montville.

4/25- Recycling Center - open from 9 AM to noon **You must unload your own recyclables - no assistance will be provided**

-Municipal Building closed to the public until further notice

-Rockaway Valley School and Mt. Lakes High School closed until further notice

-Other than the Township Committee meetings all club and community organization meetings at the Municipal Building are canceled.

Update from the Township Committee:

Township officials continue to monitor developments with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as of April 16, 2020 there are 43 confirmed cases in the Township. We are working closely with our partners at the Morris County Health Management and Office of Emergency Management.

The Morris County Office of Health Management provides daily updates of the confirmed cases in Boonton Township. You can access this information at: https://health.morriscountynj.gov/coronavirus/#cases State directives now prohibit the dissemination of certain information concerning confirmed cases so information received by the Township is limited.

-Refrain from using parks or trails if you are exhibiting virus symptoms.

-Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to and during use of parks or trails.

-Observe CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other individuals at all times. If this is not possible, users should find an alternate location or depart that space.

-Understand that public restrooms are not available but have portable restrooms (please bring personal sanitary supplies for yourself).

COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE

The adult leaders of Boonton Township's Cub Scout Pack 69 and Boy Scout Troop 69, in conjunction with the Rockaway Valley United Methodist Church, are collecting food for the benefit of the Interfaith Food Pantry.

The Pantry has indicated an increase in the influx of families needing emergency food.

We will be conducting food collections on Saturdays.

SAVE THE DATES!!

Gather all those old files and paperwork in need of shredding and "come on down"!

PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE:

Location: Recycling Depot– 155 Powerville Rd

Time: 9:00 am-12:00 noon

You can either watch as your docs are shredded for security reasons, or leave them to be done. No limit!

Summer Recreation Camps 2020

Summer Recreation Camp

Once again the summer recreation camp is being offered for children entering kindergarten thru 5th grade. It will run from June 29th –August 7th. Each week is centered around a theme.

Special events include Fire Truck Wet Downs, Inflatables, Computers, Tennis, Bike Rodeos and Field Trips.

You will have the opportunity to participate on a weekly basis for $100 per week.

Camp runs Monday - Friday, from 9 am-12 pm at Rockaway Valley School.

New campers are welcome at any time.

Preschool Summer Camp

The Preschool Camp is offered to 3 and 4 year olds. It will be held at RVS the same weeks and hours as our recreation camp.

Spots are limited! If interested please register soon. $100 per week.

All Sports Camp

Offered to Students entering 4th-8th 9:00 am-12:00 pm at RVS. Cost is $100 per week. Choice from 6 weeks- June 29th – August 7th.

Different sports will be played each day with an hour of agility training by a certified instructor.

Summer Theater Camp

This creative theater camp gives children in grade 1st-5th the opportunity to sing, dance, act, create scenery and design costume accessories for original plays.

A new performance will be performed each week on Fridays. Three weeks will be offered: Weeks of July 6th- 10th, July 20th-24th, and July 27th-31st. Cost is $115 for each week.

This camp will be held at Rockaway Valley School from 9 am-12 pm.

Specialty Camps

Each week is $100. Camps held at RVS from 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Lego Camp - June 29th July 2nd

Creative Crafts - July 6th - 10th

Engineer and Design - July 27th - 31st

Rockaway Valley Garden Club

The Rockaway Valley Garden Club generally meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Meetings begin at 10:00 AM and are held at the Boonton Township Municipal Building, 155 Powerville Rd.

Guests are always welcome and we encourage you to join us to see what we are about.
