Tropical Storm Isaias

The Mayor and Township Committee wish to thank all residents for their cooperation and patience in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias last week. More than 90% of the Township was without power after high winds and fallen trees downed power lines and obstructed roadways. Within hours of the storm our Public Works crew has all but one road opened. The Office of Emergency Management was activated in advance of the storm and worked closely with the County Emergency Operations Center including our Police and Fire Departments which did an admirable job in responding to calls and ensuring the safety of our residents.

While power restoration took longer than everyone would have liked once the tree and power crews arrived all power was restored within 48 hours. A big shout out to the line crews from Ohio, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia who worked diligently to restore our power. A special thanks to our JCP&L liaison, Bob Flynn, who endured continual texts, calls and e-mails from the Mayor and Administrator to confirm when work would be done and provide updates so our residents stayed in the loop.

And also thanks to our OEM Coordinators, Bill Klingener & Scott Para, Public Works, Rob Rizzo and Jim Hodgins and our Police and Fire Departments who were the boots on the ground and monitored restoration progress and clean up.
