GREEN TEAM NEWS

Food Waste: In the U.S. food waste is estimated at 30-40 percent of the food supply.  Food waste is the single largest component going into  municipal landfills and quickly generating methane gas, making landfills the third largest source of methane gas in the U.S.  What can you do?

Reduce food waste by shopping smarter and storing your food better.

Recover food waste - donate to food pantries - such as the Interfaith Food Pantry in Morris County.

Recycle food waste -- compost all your plant-based food waste.
